AWS certification fees: plan beyond the exam
Use the official AWS fee categories, then add preparation and contingency costs without inventing salary outcomes.
Add exam attempts and preparation costs. All starting amounts are illustrative, not vendor quotes.
Enter the number of paid attempts you want to budget for. This is a scenario, not a prediction of failure. Replace the lower and upper exam fees with current prices from the issuer. Put the combined cost of books, labs, subscriptions, travel and any checkout tax in the fixed field. Do not put an annual subscription in this field unless you intend to pay for the full year.
The formula is attempts × fee + fixed costs. An illustrative single attempt at $150 with $100 of preparation costs is $250. Budgeting a second attempt makes the same scenario $400. The calculator does not add discounts or reimbursement automatically. Use the fee you actually expect to pay and avoid subtracting a benefit twice.
The scenario selector replaces the fee fields; neither option is a market estimate. Confirm the result against the checkout total. This tool excludes study time, future renewal, borrowing costs and lost earnings. A budget range cannot establish whether the credential is right for a particular job.
